Birch December 24 - January 20

Help is at hand, not where it is expected.

Know that the residents of the other realms are always at hand, not always seen but always there. You have been expecting help from one source only. Open your mind, those you thought would never help are at your side right now.

Rowan January 21 - February 17

Guided by Gods I find the Goddess within.

It seems essential in this world to know a thing's opposite to know the thing. This month the Goddess within is revealed within by the masculine without. See the nature of the male principle and know the female within.

Ash February 18 - March 17

Scrying for omens, I miss the signs.

Do not spent time this month looking to the cards, the I Ching or the runes. This month you will see the answers you seek symbolically in your world. Do not over read these, they are as clear as day.

Alder March 18 - April 14

Over the crest of a wave I see the boat that will rescue me.

The end is in sight! The struggle is almost over. Yet the rescue boat is not here yet. Keep treading water and keep your head above the water. 

Willow April 15 - May 12

War dogs are released to harass the enemy.

Send forth your warnings. Let not the enemy think you are unready. Sometimes a show of force is all that’s needed. This month stand in your power and watch to world come to heel.

Hawthorn May 13 - June 9

Help of the best kind allows me to fail on my own.

It is through the "failures" in this life we learn ourselves. It is our steel that comes from these smeltings. This month you are asked to look to past "failings" and see what your lessons were. 

Oak June 10 - July 7

The granary is full and the brewing begins.

You harvest time is over. The hard work has been done. Prepare for a celebration and then celebrate to your hearts desire. Enjoy this rest period, the work will start again.

Holly July 8 - August 4

Banished from the land of my ancestors, I wander in pain.

This is a month of exile and separation. We all need this once in a while. A time of separation from the tribe allows us to assess what we really believe and what the tribe believes. Do not waste this month feeling sorry for yourself

Hazel August 5 - September 1

The style of painting reminds me of ages past.

Getting in touch with your ancestors and their values is the goal for this month. Painting, art in general, is window into the soul of a culture. Look into that window and learn.

Bramble September 2 - September 29

The nine blessings of eternity are showered upon me.

Be open and receptive, the nine blessings aren't just a possibility, they will be a reality. Accept with humility and joy. An easy month for you and not before time.

Ivy September 30 - October 27

The High King takes a consort with much wisdom.

There is a part of the Zen monks vows that is appropriate for you this month: "I promise to keep my vows when they are to be kept and promise to break them when they need to be broken." I am not advocating adultery, I am asking you to think outside the rules of society. An answer lies there.

Reed October 28 - November 24

Opening her heart the young maiden loses herself.

The first quarter of the moon is the time of the maiden. Maidens opening their hearts to lose themselves has a long and painful history. Through the losing of ourselves we have to opportunity to rediscover who we really are. Be cautious around the first quarter and look forward to finding yourself.

Elder November 25 - December 23

The keel is laid and the ribs are set.

The basic structure of your future has been laid. Until the keel and ribs of a boat come into existence, the boat is just an idea. You have been shaping the raw wood of your life and now you are ready to add the skin and fit it out. Keep going. Building a boat by hand takes time.
