Birch December 24 - January 20

Winter follows Autumn, Summer follows Spring.

You have a month of retreat and contemplation, of decision and action. Spend time withdrawing into yourself, listening and learning. Then contemplate your learnings. Consider them deeply. This is important. Decide on your course of action and then leap into the action, refreshed, powerful and confident.

Rowan January 21 - February 17

Sheep munching contentedly on their cud.

A month of relaxation and contentment. The work has been done, the effort put in. Now is the time to enjoy the fruits of that work. Sheep chewing cud a extracting the last of the goodness from their feed. Yet they generally lie down to do this. You must take the last ounce of enjoyment from the work you done and the goals you have reached. Enjoy!

Ash February 18 - March 17

A youth too big for his boots retires to lick his wounds.

You have all the knowledge you need. You have just applied it incorrectly. Be aware of what you are doing this month and look for signs of hubris. The warning is there for you if you are prepared to listen. If not you'll have time to think while you lick your wounds.

Alder March 18 - April 14

The end of the cycle is the beginning of the next.

While it may seem like everything is falling in a heap, this necessary. The old must be let go of for the new to appear. Life is but a series of cycles. Endings are beginnings! As an old tree drops in the forest, many new seedlings sprout. You have a multitude of choices this month.

Willow April 15 - May 12

A leap of faith from the top of a cliff.

Can people really fly? Can people know that soft landing is below? This month you are asked to take things on faith. This is not a matter of belief, it is a matter of knowing. You can't goback, you can only go forward. So go forward!!!

Hawthorn May 13 - June 9

Dangers are met before they arrive.

You are on top of you game this month. Nothing can harm you. You see things before they exist in the physical. This seeing will come as hunches, flashes and in just knowing. Go with your gut and enjoy the month.

Oak June 10 - July 7

Fires warn a warning from hilltop to hilltop.

You are forewarned this month. The signs are coming from your fellow clan members. The enemy is within the land but they have been spotted. There is time to rally your defenses and make good your responses. All will be well, if you heed the warnings.

Holly July 8 - August 4

The nine blessings of eternity are showered upon me.

Be open and receptive, the nine blessings aren't just a possibility, they will be a reality. Accept with humility and joy. An easy month for you and not before time.

Hazel August 5 - September 1

Gathering wild herbs to cure a general malaise.

You have an ability to heal this month. Gather yourself and draw up the flow of the power of Nature. You can effect great change but you must gather your power first. Once accumulated, you must choose. Choose wisely and you will develop skills you were unaware you had.

Bramble September 2 - September 29

A stone tablet is erected in an open field.

This is a month to define your limits, to set your boundaries. To define what is and what isn't you is critical at this time. Knowing what is you allows you to make changes. Knowing what isn't you allows you to see others more clearly. Set your boundaries.

Ivy September 30 - October 27

Horses run freely across an open meadows.

The joy of freedom, the wonder of unrestrained expression are your gifts this month. Feel the strength that comes from this unbridled joy course through your veins.

Reed October 28 - November 24

Death is the natural consequence of birth.

Letting go of that which has ended is part of being human. It is part of all life but it is especially important for we humans. We can fight it but death and endings come relentlessly. Release and move on.

Elder November 25 - December 23

Open your eyes to the glory of each sunset.

Spend ten minutes a day, every day this month contemplating the wonders of Nature. Sunset would be most appropriate but any ten minutes will do. Make it the same time each day and observe the changes over the month. Secrets will be revealed to you.
