Celtic Tree Horoscope March 2008

Birch December 24 - January 20

A coracle bouncing on the waves of life.

The coracle ( http://www.abc.net.au/sydney/stories/s2001638.htm ) is small circular boat that requires much skill to row in a straight line. This would suggest that this month you are floating on the waves of fortune. Fortune can be both ill and good. Use your skills to follow the path of good fortune this month. 

Rowan January 21 - February 17

A deer suns itself in a forest clearing.

The power and grace of Nature made manifest in the form of the deer, resting in the comfort of a forest clearing is the image of your month. Rest, enjoy, relax. Do it now and bask in the sunlight of just being. You have earned it.

Ash February 18 - March 17

Waves of desire alternate with waves of self pity.

This is a month to achieve balance. The further you are along that path the smaller the swings will be this month. Perversely, once you are within steps of achieving balance, small swings can feel enormous. Listen with your heart to your mind. This month will bring balance.

Alder March 18 - April 14

Running water starts from a sacred spring.

From the sacred spring comes the water of your life. Water is inner knowing, flowing water is your outward expression of that inner knowing. Allow the expression of your life this month to be permeated by this sacred flow.

Willow April 15 - May 12

Winter follows Autumn, Summer follows Spring.

You have a month of retreat and contemplation, of decision and action. Spend time withdrawing into yourself, listening and learning. Then contemplate your learnings. Consider them deeply. This is important. Decide on your course of action and then leap into that action, refreshed, powerful and confident.

Hawthorn May 13 - June 9

A crowing of the cock, The rising of the sun.

Listen for the sign, listen with all of your senses and with your hands and feet. The start of a new day, the start of new part of your life occurs this month. Listen and begin. Beginnings are as important as endings, so begin well.

Oak June 10 - July 7

Walking alone down mountain tracks.

Walking down mountain tracks let you know this month you are returning home. Your solo journey to the mountain top is completed. A phases of spiritual growth has ended. The walk home gives you time to assimilate. Spend the month letting things settle and round out.

Holly July 8 - August 4

A dark moon reveals inner motives.

Look closely at others on the 20th of Ash (7 March) and their inner motives will be revealed. It may not be immediately obvious just what these motives are but the observations of that day will be confirmed as the month passes. 

Hazel August 5 - September 1

A cloudy day by the sea, sunlight on the hills.

This month suggests a time of inner turmoil. While you will be able to keep that smiling outer face, there will be some sadness in your soul. This will more than likely not even last the whole month but will feel intense while it lasts. 

Bramble September 2 - September 29

A dagger is driven into the heart of the matter.

The dagger represents your mind. Use it to dive into the problem at hand. Thinking, listening to the world around you, contemplating and acting are all parts of your dagger. This month drive that dagger into the most pressing problem you face. 

Ivy September 30 - October 27

A wailing of wise women releases the wee folk.

Sometimes we need the help of those from the other realms. This month is such a time. The wise women do not summon the wee folk lightly nor without cause. This month you must allow those from the other realms to help you. Do NOT fight it!

Reed October 28 - November 24

A cupboard door opens to reveal a new set of clothes.

A new beginning can be marked with new clothes. A new uniform to mark your change to the world. This is the month where you mark your changes from the past year by changing your outward appearance. Strut you stuff.

Elder November 25 - December 23

Divining for water I find jewels.

Now is the time for your greatest surprise. Going about your daily business, looking for for the simplicity of water you will discover the jewels of self knowledge. These appear in the ordinary yet they are extraordinary. Prepared to be enlightened!
