Birch December 24 - January 20

The sow delivers a litter of twenty seven little piglets.

Pigs represent prosperity, fecundity and the power of nature made manifest. A sow that drops twenty seven piglets is all these things and more. Look forward to a huge reward this month. 

Rowan January 21 - February 17

Women working at spinning provide comfort during the winter.

The power of community and the comfort of combined effort are the focus for this month. In times of shortage, "winter", great comfort and support will come to you this month. 

Ash February 18 - March 17

A youth too big for his boots retires to lick his wounds.

You have all the knowledge you need. You have just applied it incorrectly. Be aware of what you are doing this month and look for signs of hubris. The warning is there for you if you are prepared to listen. If not you'll have time to think while you lick your wounds.

Alder March 18 - April 14

A strange dowry of eagle's feathers and a golden cup.

In the Great Marriage of "female" and "male" of earth and sky of Goddess and God, the dowry is not mentioned. This month you are being offered the spirit of the eagle: vision, strength, focus and the gifts of the grail: self knowledge, wisdom, love. Marry the two halves of yourself. 

Willow April 15 - May 12

Barley grows well over an ancient battlefield.

Wisdom and nourishment come from an understanding of your past conflicts. Spend this month reviewing your life. See the lessons and the learnings that have come to you. Know that these were the making of you and the strength of your future.

Hawthorn May 13 - June 9

Setting out for the Summerlands of the West.

This is the month to focus your goals on the higher realms. What from these other realms do you wish to manifest in this plane? Decide, decide, decide and do. The deciding is 75% of the task. This is the month of that deciding.

Oak June 10 - July 7

Divining with bones, the future is foretold.

This is the month where your divinatory skills can come to fruition! Be it bones, tarot, runes or intuition, you see clearly. If you feel you're not yet ready to have reading done by someone you trust. The window to the future is open.

Holly July 8 - August 4

Boys playing a game of mock battle.

The people around you and possibly even yourself are playing games. Games can be good but they can also be patterns of safety from the past that stop growth. Look at your own actions and intentions, look at other's and see what has to be changed.

Hazel August 5 - September 1

Weaving the web of life into an enchanted cloak.

Cloaks protect and hide, enchanted cloaks protect, hide and enlighten. This month you are protected, hidden and enlightened by the experiences of your entire lifetimes. No need to review, the necessary learnings will be placed before you.

Bramble September 2 - September 29

Hiding intentions deceives an old crone.

This month you must hide your ultimate purpose. The place you wish to reach must not be disclosed. The old crone in this sense represents the conservative, unchanging past of memory. You will break free of the memory of your genes, your family mythology and the societal norms if you keep your dream to yourself.

Ivy September 30 - October 27

Battle hardened warriors fast before a skirmish.

Slow down this month, prepare for a minor battle that is coming. You have been through many spiritual battles in the past and these have hardened you to the ways of this world and the other realms. These great battles have always, despite their outward appearance, been battles with yourself. Prepare, the coming skirmish will be revealing.

Reed October 28 - November 24

The lord and lady distribute food in times of famine.

In the spiritual famine we all suffer from time to time, our nourishment must come both sides of ourselves. The lord and the lady; the inner and the outer; the male and the female. These energies out of balance are the cause of spiritual famine. Rebalance this month.

Elder November 25 - December 23

A door opens in a sacred grove of trees.

As Parsifal stumbled upon the Grail Castle, so too will the pathway to this sacred grove be revealed in your everyday life. Enter the grove and ask the appropriate question. Answers are coming.
